What It Is
Hashimoto’s is an autoimmune condition. This means the body’s immune system attacks the thyroid by
mistake.
Symptoms
● Same as hypothyroidism
● Sometimes a swollen thyroid (goiter)
Treatment
Most children will need daily thyroid hormone replacement. With treatment, children can grow and
develop normally
